Europe, your weird (I know it’s not just Europe but still).

Holland and Belgium, borders within borders.

Initially nothing of note. Holland to the north, Belgium to the south.

But then you notice some weird contrast here.

Kinja'd!!!

Within Holland are Belgium enclaves, but in one large Belgium enclave are five Dutch enclaves

or roughly highlighted but more visual.

Kinja'd!!!

Lets hope Holland and Belgium don’t fall out or one of them leaves the E.U.

Hey, Mr. Northern Ireland. That border isn’t quite this, but parts of it are pretty close.

Kinja'd!!!

I suppose Minnesota and Canada have a similar thing going on too.

Kinja'd!!!

Eh, w e’re all weird in our own  ways I suppose.

The story goes this situation was caused by trading farm lands when Northern Belgium and Soutern Netherlands was still one.

The border of Belgium and Germany also has some interesting Exclaves/Enclaves, mainly due to a train track which belongs to Bel gium.

Ye’, I don’t come across them very often.

Like Northern Ireland, exclaves are just as interesting as enclaves.

There’s one in the U.A.E, with an Oman enclave in it, then a U.A.E emclave within that and I’m positive there was an Oman enclave within that but it’s not showing up on Google maps.

That’s pretty cool and makes sense really.

I find them interesting, because as you scroll across the earth, something sticks out and you see these and your mind wonders how these came about especially when you see one inside of another, inside of another.
